A Match: Phonemic Awareness, Research, and IntelliTools Classroom Suite
Friday, October 19, 2007 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Phonemic awareness is an important basic skill for students to develop in order for them to become successful, fluent readers. Explicit instruction is a key to providing this skill. The tool set in IntelliTools Classroom Suite can be used to create learning environments that deliver effective, evidence-based reading instruction to students. Participants will be provided with an overview of the newly published Phonemic Awareness Activities and the underlying research behind the activity design. Instructions on creating reading environments that integrate the components of direct explicit instruction, as shown in the Phonemic Awareness Activities, will be provided.
